[FASHION] Keds

When I first started reading the article on Keds clothing line on Nylon.com, I was nervous. I didn't think it could be good. I mean, the shoes are definitely a classic! But I didn't think they could pull off a clothing line. I was completely wrong. I started going through the lookbook, and quickly started drooling over everything! Such a lovely, young, cute collection. I don't usually like wearing those sorts of garments, but I would totally get some of these! Here are a few that I particularly liked.

I absolutely love the pairing with the salmon blazer and the dress.

Head over the the article to take a look at the lookbook. I'm excited to see these! Hopefully it'll be available in Canada.

[BEAUTY] Cut and Style

I hadn't had my hair cut since August, so I thought it was about time. Best part about getting my hair cut? Seeing my awesome hairdresser! She's actually the best. Whenever I get my hair cut, it's really nothing extreme, I like my long/natural hair. I especially love how she styles it after the cut though. This time, middle part with some loose curls. I find like I could be in a 1970's episode of Charlie's Angels. I love it.

Sorry for the webcam quality photo...I was being a little lazy...

UPDATE!
Took a photo with my camera, but my hair wasn't as nice as when I first got home. I wish my hair always looked like that!

[OUTFIT] Round Tank

I'm back in Ottawa for reading week! A nice week off. I was at Urban Outfitters a couple of days ago, and all their sale items were 30% off! I had to take a look. Unfortunately, I was slightly disappointed. I did find this tank top, it's simple, longer in the back, and dark grey. Nothing too fancy, but it was a great deal! I miss wearing these boots, but they have a hole in the sole, and I've already had the heels replaced, so I've kind of given up on them.

[DIY] Shoulder Cutout to No Sleeves

I talked about this shirt a few weeks ago now, and finally got to work on it! Although it's nothing special, I'm glad I got it done. I started off with that sort of shoulder cutout type of look, but had made the cut too close to the neck. I didn't like it, so I simply decided to take the sleeves off. As an extra little added bonus, I added two little triangular studs at the collar. You know, just to give it a little something something. As for the buttons, I'll try to work on that later. For now, I like the simplicity of it!

Yes I do realize my work is a little big rough...I'm no designer!

Below is a better look at the necklace, without the collar in the way.

[BEAUTY] 90's Goth Girl/Egyptian Something or Other...

Guess who's two roommates were out, got very bored, and threw makeup on her face? Yup that's me with all my poofy hair. I thought I'd try to be all....mysterious? Or something, I'm not really quite sure. Although this is not a very beauty related post, I still felt like sharing. I love how the focus turned out in the first photo. That strand of hair on my shoulder is nicely out of focus, but still soft. I know that might be a huge deal for some, but I thought it looked neat.

[OUTFIT] Smidge of Horseback Rider

I walked all the way to school today, only to find out my class was cancelled. I walked all the way back home, and thought that since it was still light out, I'd do an outfit of the day before going to the gym. I find it almost has a hint of equestrian, is it just me? Might be the boots...that I wear...far too often, but I love them so much.

[FASHION] Favourite Looks from NYFW F/W 2012

With only a day and a half left of NYFW F/W 2012, I thought I'd share my favourite pieces thus far...

Anais Pouliot for Oscar de la Renta
The collection was classic Oscar de la Renta. Not that there is anything wrong with that! The pieces are all so beautiful with great detail.

Cora Emmanuel for 3.1 Phillip Lim
I love what he's done with the sweater. A very zoomed in effect of a classic tweed pattern. It takes a second to realize that that is what it is, but once you do realize, it cannot be unseen.

Isaac for Band of Outsiders
Clearly, I'm directed towards a lot of looks with sweaters. As it is the Fall/Winter collections, sweaters are a necessity! Going through the Band of Outsiders collection, I noticed a lot of light colours, which can sometimes be unusual for Fall/Winter, but I like that they kept it light.

Bette Franke for Jason Wu
The detailing on all the pieces is absolutely amazing. I love the all black look with the gold, it pops out perfectly.

Ruby Aldridge for Marc by Marc Jacobs
As you may know, I'm a sucker for the collar trend. Here, Marc did an interesting combination of combining a classic, simple collar with a turtleneck. I think it turned out very lovely! I really enjoy the effect it gives.

Ymre Stiekema for Rodarte
This collection had such a great variety of textures and shapes. I simply loved the look of this garment, it's fun and interesting to look at, yet is still quite flattering

[MODELS] Cara Delevingne

I'm just sitting here on Tumblr, and someone reblogged a bunch of Cara Delevingne photos. I just wanted to share here how fabulous she is! I know I posted about her a couple months ago, but here are some new ones. My favourite things about her is that she doesn't take herself too seriously, she is still fun and quirky! If I ever had to opportunity to meet her, I would definitely let her know how awesome I think she is. Wouldn't you agree?

[OUTFIT] Open Up Your Heart

Got home from school, and I really felt like putting a neat outfit together. I love all blues with all creams/camels. I find they look so lovely together! As much as I wanted the ribbon on the hat to match my romper, it just doesn't quite make it...oh well!

[ETC] Slightly Different Look

I'm about to head out, butI I felt like sharing what I'm wearing tonight a little. Yes, it's a black and white photo, but I liked the effect of it. I'm wearing my Media lipstick by MAC, with my DIY pearled collared shirt. I'm also wearing my hair up in a high ponytail, which is slightly unusual for me, but I liked the look it.

[ETC] Early Spring/Summer Wishlist

I don't have any plans on this Friday night, so I've been online browsing for the past little while. There are a lot of spring items already! Pink, or various shades of it, seems to be catching my eye a lot these days. I saw these sandals live at Aldo the other day, and the pink is a lot more flashy than in the photo. I fell in love with them! I do need to sandals this summer...these could be it! Anyway, I thought I'd share with you a few of my finds.

1. Flamingo Cutout Shirt - Topshop
2. Moonshine Necklace - Nasty Gal
3. Nealey Sandal - Aldo
4. Button Up Tank - Nasty Gal

Another very important item of clothing I'm on the hunt for is a new pair of high waisted black jeans. The issue is I can never find any that are long enough! I need at least a 34 length, and all I'm finding is 30 or 32. I'm tired of having cold uncovered ankles! I know it might be a trend now, but it's an issue I've dealt with my for so long, I just want some black skinny jeans that cover my ankles. Here are a few I found on the Urban Outfitters website, but only the BDG Cigarette High-Rise Jean - Washed Black are 34 length, the rest are too short!

[VIDEO] Every Day Makeup

I thought I'd make a video to show what my every day look is like...when I actually put some effort into it. Too often do I get up in the morning and I rush out to class without putting anything on. There is also a bit of an upside to this, because whenever I do put nice makeup on, people notice. Anyway, I hope you enjoy! Be sure to leave me a comment :)

[STREET STYLE] College Fashionista Feature

I meant to do a post about this a few days ago, but it had slipped my mind! I was very lucky to be featured on the very fun site College Fashionista. It's essentially a sort of street style blog, but for colleges and universities. Be sure to check out the George Brown page!

[ACCESSORIES] Oscar de la Renta Scarf

I was in Ottawa over the weekend for my grandmother's funeral. She was such an amazing and inspirational woman. She will be greatly missed. After the funeral all the kids and grandkids went to the apartment to pick out some objects to remember our grandmother by. I found this lovely Oscar de la Renta scarf. I was completely shocked when I found it. She had a great love for fashionable clothing, and once I saw the scarf, I had to have it. On t'aime beaucoup grand-maman, tu va beaucoup nous manquer.

[OUTFIT] Diamonds Are Forever

I felt like I had not posted an outfit in a little while. I had tried this sort of look in the past with this sweater, but wore a different button up, and it did not work as well. This is one of my favourite shirts! The button up from Durumi is a classic piece with a twist...although I've covered it with the sweater.
